Obtaining A
Government Issued Marriage Certificate
Members finding
it necessary to obtain a government issued marriage
certificate may check with the Circuit Court that issued
their marriage licenses
in order to receive a copy to comply with the Verizon spousal dependent
verification.
The courts may provide a more convenient and possibly a more
economical route to obtain this document than the State's
Vital Records department.
Depending on the locality, a certified copy of a
marriage certificate may cost as little as $2.50 to obtain
through the courts
in comparison to the VA Health Department's Vital Records
division where the cost begins at $12.00 per record.
Additionally,
a copy of the government issued certificate will be accepted
by Verizon for the dependent verification.
